On Thursday afternoon, the College of the Ozarks’ Lady Bobcats soundly defeated Crowley’s Ridge College by a score of 113-55. Juniors Kayla Kepler (pictured) and Tanner Merriman led the team’s scoring frenzy with 20 points apiece, and four more Lady ‘Cats followed in double digits. Freshman guard Jeana Raper brought down 9 of the team’s 49 rebounds and Kepler garnered 6 steals. The Lady Bobcats also posted nine 3-pointers, with Kayla Kepler & Jeana Raper each hitting three. Today’s game provided a great opportunity for Coach Vest to utilize the depth of her bench, with all players receiving significant time on the court. Crowley’s Ridge Lady Pioneers Jordan Shelton and Hannah Willard contributed the bulk of their team’s scoring with 18 and 17 points respectively.
Thursday’s win brings the Lady Bobcats’ record to 12-4. The team will return to the court next weekend as they begin conference play at home on Friday, January 17th , at 5:30 PM against Oklahoma Wesleyan University and the men will follow at 7:30 PM. On Saturday, January 18th, at 3 PM the College will host its Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Games, with the College of the Ozarks taking on Haskell Indian Nations University at 3 and 5 PM.
