College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats and Bobcats claim both women’s and men’s MCAC South Championships!
The NAIA DII #14 College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats claimed the MCAC South Championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating #15 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan University by a score of 83-73.
Ozarks led OKWU throughout the game, and by and many as 16 points in the second half of the contest. The Lady Eagles drained seven three-pointers in the second half to pull within as few as 4 points late in the game, but when the Lady Eagles began to foul, the Lay Cats came through at the free-throw line, hitting 6 of 7 to close out the game.
Leading the Lady Bobcats were senior Kayla Kepler with 22 points and 6 assists, and Brandy Uchtman with 7 rebounds (12 points). Also hitting double figures were Mason Bovard (12) and Hannah Wisdom (11).
The Eagles were carried by Nichole Tate (19 points) and Shelby Graham (14 points).
The Lady Bobcats, with a record of 23-7, will host the College of St. Mary (25-6) on Tuesday, March 3rd, at 5:30 PM, with hopes of claiming the MCAC Tournament Championship.
