The Lady Bobcats suffered their third loss of the season on Monday as the NAIA DI University of the Cumberlands' Patriots captured the win, 78-63, in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
The Cats started off strong and steady, as they closed the first quarter tied at 13, and led by four at at the half, 32-28. The second half, however, told a different story, as the Cats struggled, being outscored 27-15 in the third and 23-16 in the final quarter. Cumberlands shot 46.8% overall to the Bobcats' 38.7%. The three-point shot was key in the game's outcome, as the Patriots drained 11 of their 22 three-pointers, while the Lady Cats hit only 2 of 12.
Senior Brandy Uchtman led C of O in scoring with 20 points, followed by Hannah Wisdom with 15. Kelsie Cleeton led the team in rebounds (9) and Shelby Roberts in assists (4).
The Lady Cats (13-3) will head to Georgetown College (6-7) to play another Division I Mid-South Conference School on Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM (CST) with the hope of claiming a victory.
