The #19 College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats tipped off against Haskell University on Friday evening at the Keeter Gymnasium. The Lady 'Cats and Indians played closely in the first quarter, but the Cats improved their shooting as they finished the first half to take a 46-36 lead into the locker room. The Bobcats came out strong in the second half, gaining a double-digit advantage midway through the period, and clamed an 88-76 victory.
Kayla Kepler led the Lady Cats in scoring with 22, followed closely by Hannah Wisdom (18 pts.) and Brandy Uchtman (17 pts.). Uchtman also grabbed 10 rebounds to add another double-double to her collection. The Bobcats held a distinct advantage on the boards, as they out-rebounded Haskell 47-24. Haskell's leading scorer, Jenine Coriz, once again led the Indians with 32 points and 6 rebounds.
While the Haskell Indians drop to 9-4 in the MCAC, the Lady Bobcats move to 11-2 in conference play, 20-7 overall, and remain tied for first in the MCAC with Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Lady Cats will take on Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday in Pt. Lookout for their final game of the regular season.
