Hearty congratulations go out to sophomore guards Kelsie Cleeton and Cassidy Johnson on being named by the NAIA to the 2016-17 Division II Women's Basketball All-America teams!
Cleeton received All-American Third Team Honors for her achievements on the court this season. She ranked #6 in NAIA DII in Total Rebounds with 364 and #11 in Total Rebounds per Game with 10.485. Kelsie not only led her team in rebounds this season but also in steals, averaging 2.27 per game. She collected double-doubles (points and rebounds) in 21 of the Lady Cats' 33 games. Averaging 11.9 points per game, Cleeton contributed 393 points this season to bring her career total to 634.
Johnson was named Honorable Mention All-American, having led her team in scoring this season with 14.42 points per game on a 42.8 shooting percentage. Cass also led her team in three-point shooting for 2016-17, draining 99 of 243 treys. Johnson contributed 113 rebounds, 60 assists, and 43-of-52 free throws to the team's season totals. Her 476 points scored this season bring her career total to 808. Cassidy was ranked #7 in NAIA DII in total 3-pt field goals made and #12 in 3-pt field goals made per game (3.0).
