On Saturday evening the College of the Ozarks Lady ‘Cats faced NAIA Division I Williams Woods University on the Bobcats’ home court. William Woods score the first basket of the evening, and it was the only time the Owls held the lead in the game. The Lady Bobcats played strong and went into halftime up by 18 points, led by Kayla Kepler with 17 points and 5 rebounds, along with Brandy Uchtman's 11 points and 6 rebounds. Upon return to the court after the half, William Woods improved their shooting and the Bobcats suffered a couple turnovers and missed shots, which allowed William Woods to close the gap to within eight points. However, a three-pointer by Alice Heinzler, followed by a steady stream of free throws, allowed the Bobcats to spread their lead to 15 and gain them an 82-67 win. Alice Heinzler led the Lady ‘Cats with 25 points, including 3 three-point baskets and six rebounds. Kayla Kepler finished with 17 points and 7 rebounds, and Brandy Uchtman contributed 14 point s and 6 rebounds. Team leaders for the William Woods Owls were Katie Scherder with 16 points and 6 rebounds, Stephanie Copelin with 12 points, and Kennedy Volkart with 11. The Lady ‘Cats will have the week off before returning to the court on December 3rd at Harris-Stowe University in St. Louis.
