Dameon Davis Places 4th in 5000 Meters

On Saturday, the Bobcat men's track and field team headed to Bolivar, Mo. to participate in the SBU Bearcat Invitational.

Dameon Davis placed 4th (17:07.62) and Jon Zimmerman was 6th (17:51.54) in the men's 5000 meters.  Also placing in the Top Ten for the day was Kyle Kapella, who posted a jump of 6' 2.75" in the men's high jump to earn 7th place.

As a team, the Bobcats placed 9th amidst many quality teams, including William Woods, Southwest Baptist, Drury, Coffeyville C.C., Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern, Central Missouri, Missouri S&T, John Brown, and Emporia State.

Men's 200 Meters - Lansing Brown (24.26) - 34th place

Men's 400 Meters - Lansing Brown (54.73) - 23rd place, and Jack Harris (1:00.25) - 25th place

Men's 800 Meters - Sam Scaggs (2:06.98) - 22nd place

Men's 1500 Meters - Dameon Davis (4:29.35) - 28th place

Men's Long Jump - Kyle Kapella (20' 8.5") - 24th place, Ryan Vance (19' 5.5") - 29th place, Teddy Lingner (18' 7.75") - 32nd place, and Jacob Russell (17' 3.25") - 35th place

Men's Triple Jump - Teddy Lingner (41' 7") - 17th place, and Jacob Russell (38' 6") - 18th place

Men's Javelin -  J. Graham Gardner (133' 6") - 13th place.

The next stop for the men's track and field team will be at Pittsburg State for the Gorilla Classic on April 15th.
