Practice Facility Taking Shape

Preparations for the Bobcats’ golf program are moving along at a steady pace.  Head coach Chris Larsen reports that 11 students (10 men and one woman) are regularly practicing at the Buffalo Ridge Springs Golf Course under the watchful eyes and instruction provided by the College’s director of golf “Smiley” Jones and himself.

Improvements on campus that will provide a pitching, chipping, and putting facility for student athletes are progressing nicely.  Initial ground work to prepare the facility began in September, and in true “Hard Work U” fashion, the College’s landscape team tackled the task of laying the newly donated sod on Monday.  The picture below shows the team at work, with a little help from Dean/Coach Larsen.

It will take some time for the area to develop, but the teams are excited for the opportunity they will have in the near future to practice their short game here on campus.

Check back for more updates as the College continues to move forward with the men’s and women’s golf program.
