The College of the Ozarks has named Clint Woods as the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coach to replace Al Waller, who will retire at the close of the spring semester. Woods is currently employed by the College as the Garrison Activities Center and Intramural Director; he also served as Coach Waller’s assistant during the 2014 Cross Country season.
Athletic Director and Cross Country Coach Waller stated, “I am very happy the College has named Clint as the new coach. He did a great job assisting the cross country program last year, and he deserves the opportunity to lead the men’s and women’s teams going forward.”
Woods, 32, holds a Bachelors Degree in Corporate Recreation/Wellness and a Master’s Degree in Recreation from Northwest Missouri State University. Clint Woods came to College of the Ozarks from California in 2013 to manage the Garrison Activities Center and teach in the Physical Education Department.
Prior to College of the Ozarks, Woods was the Boy’s Dorm/Activities Director at Monte Vista Christian School in California. He has also served as Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Men’s Director of Bartlesville K-Life, and Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant at Northwest Missouri State. Woods attended high school in Nixa, Missouri, where he played tennis and basketball.
Woods commented, “I am excited to continue to be a part of the athletes lives and athletic careers. We look to build on the success of the program’s inaugural season [following a 20+ year hiatus], and we will continue to work hard to further strengthen our program.”
Woods is married and has two children; his wife, Angie, serves as the Hall Director of Mabee Dorm on the College’s campus.
