On Saturday, September 17th, the Bobcat cross country team raced their first 8K of the season on a soggy course at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.
The team finished 6th out of 17 teams, with a combined top 5 time of 2:19:23.27. Although missing one of their top five runners this week, the men were still able to finish in the top half of the field.
Dameon Davis led the way with a 27:38.92 (31st place of 152 runners), followed closely by Jeremy Wood with a 27:43.26 (33rd), Jonathan Zimmerman at 27:44.58 (35th), Shane York at 27:52.12 (36th), and Loyal Carpenter at 28:24.38 (54th). The men will have a two-week break before their next competition, when they will head to the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville on October 1.
