The Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville drew the Bobcat Cross Country team to Arkansas this past weekend. With close to 500 runners, comprised primarily of DI and NCAA schools, this event was the largest to date in which the Bobcats have participated.
The Bobcats’ top runner was Dameon Davis (307) with a personal best of 27:33.34 in the 8K event. Seven other Bobcats posted their best times as well--Loyal Carpenter, Jeremy Wood, Michael Maxwell, Tyler Wiggs, Nic White, Sam Scaggs, and Jack Harris. Newcomer Shane York, running in his first 8K, finished second among his twelve team members with a time of 27:41.19.
The men’s cross country team ranks #2 in the AII Conference behind British Columbia. The team will have a weekend off before hosting the Ozarks Ambush on the College of the Ozarks campus, Saturday, October 17th.
