The Bobcat men’s cross country team headed to Washington Park in Denver, Colorado, this weekend to participate in the A.I.I. Conference meet hosted by Johnson & Wales University. The men finished in second place out of seven teams participating. University of British Columbia captured first place.
Conditions were quite different than usual for the C of O runners, as the altitude was high and the temperatures were low—34 degrees at park arrival and in the 40’s at race time.
Chris Mitchell and Dameon Davis finished in 10th and 11th place respectively, qualifying them to run in the national competition scheduled for November 21st at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mitchell completed the 8K race in 28:32, and Davis finished close on Mitchell's heels at 28:40. Following just behind to round out the top 5 C of O finishers were: Shane York (13th place, 28:58), Loyal Carpenter (16th place, 29:23), and Tag Grisham (17th place, 30:00).
