College of the Ozarks men’s cross country team participated in the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Saturday.
Forty teams participated in the men’s collegiate division, which included schools such as Arkansas, Dallas Baptist, Texas State, and Boston College. Rather than the normal 8K race, this year’s event featured a 10K—a first for the Bobcats.
The men finished 31st with a team time of 2:52:34.70. Leading the Bobcat runners were Sam Baumer (173rd of 330, 33:52.5), Jon Zimmerman (182nd, 34:11.8), and Shane York (200th, 34:32.6).
Full race results are available on the men’s cross country team’s web page.
Next weekend, the men will take a longer road trip, as they head to Bettendorf, Iowa for the Saint Ambrose University Invitational. The race will provide the Bobcats with an added advantage when Conference Championship time comes around, as the course utilized for this event is the same location where the A.I.I. Conference meet will be held.
