A stellar defensive effort by College of the Ozarks allowed them to rebound from an opening night loss in a big way defeating former MCAC rival Oklahoma Wesleyan, 69-51 on Saturday night in Bartlesville.
Senior guard Cameron Paschke led the way for the Bobcats (1-1) finishing with a game-high 22 points. Sophomore Heath Carmichael added 14 points and 8 rebounds for C of O. In the end, it was the Bobcats defense that set the tone forcing OKWU to shoot 17-for-74 for the game and only allowing 20 second-half points for the host Eagles. Sophomore Ethan Davidson led the Bobcats with 10 rebounds, while junior Canyon Smith led C of O with 4 assists.
The Bobcats will continue their trek on the road, playing at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. on Tuesday, before returning for their season-opening home game on Friday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m.
