On October 27th, the A.I.I. Conference and NAIA released their DII men’s basketball preseason polls.
In the 2015-16 A.I.I Division II poll, the College of the Ozarks Bobcats, who were co-champions of the MCAC in 2014-15, were ranked third behind Mount Mercy (Iowa) and Northern New Mexico. Rounding out the top six teams were Rochester (Mich.), Central Christian (Kan.), and Fisher (Mass.)
While they did receive votes, the Bobcats did not make the NAIA DII Preseason Top 25 Poll, which was topped by Cornerstone (Mich.), Indiana Wesleyan, and Davenport (Mich.). Each of the top three teams finished their 2014-15 season ranked in the top five.
The Bobcats look to win their way back into the Top 25 Poll one game at a time. They will open their regular season on the road Wednesday, November 4th, against William Penn University and will play their first regular-season home game on Friday, November 6th at 7 PM, facing Southwestern College. Be sure to come out to “The K” and cheer them on!
