2017 marks the 35th year that McDonald’s has sponsored the C of O McDonald's CAM JAM classic, which took place at the College of the Ozarks on January 2nd and 3rd and included six visiting teams, as well as the Lady Cats and Bobcats.
Over 20 years ago, McDonald’s and College of the Ozarks decided to partner with Christian Action Ministries to help raise food for the hungry in this area. At that time, the classic became known as the C of O McDonald’s CAM JAM. The women's classic, which also participates in collecting items for CAM was hosted this year by Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper Bottling Company.
Each year the College offers free admission to the games in exchange for 5 or more donated canned goods or non-perishable food items-hundreds upon hundreds of which were collected and will be delivered to CAM. In addition, along with sponsoring the event, McDonald's of Branson and Hollister, owned by the Ruprecht Organization, makes a generous financial donation to Christian Action Ministries.
On Tuesday evening, prior to the start of the Bobcats' ballgame, Andy, Jennifer and Reese Ruprecht (pictured) presented a check to Christian Action Ministries’ Board Chairman Larry Johnson and Board Member Elizabeth Hughes in the amount of $1,000 to help with the tremendous work CAM is doing in the community.
Special thanks go out to McDonalds and the Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper Bottling Company for their support of Bobcat and Lady Bobcat athletics at the College, as well as to CAM for the tremendous work they are doing in the community.
