Javyn Johnston to Join Bobcats

Javyn JohnstonJavyn Johnston, a 6’4” senior from Drexel, Missouri, signed a letter of intent to play basketball with the College of the Ozarks Bobcats for the 2014-2015 season.  While Johnston may be sporting a different jersey color at College of the Ozarks, he will be quite comfortable in a “Bobcats” uniform.

Johnston was a well-decorated athlete for the Drexel High School Bobcats.  As a sophomore, he was named 1st Team All District and 2nd Team All-Conference, while helping his team become WEMO, District, Sectional and State Quarter-Final Champions, then closing their season with a 2nd place finish in State.  As a Junior, Johnston was named 1st Team All-Conference, All-District, and All-State, while his team collected the championship in WEMO, Sectionals, and the Quarter-Finals, taking 3rd place in State.  During his senior season, Johnston was once again honored with 1st Team All-Conference, All-District, and All-State awards, while leading his team to a District Championship.  Johnston averaged approximately 24 points and 9 rebounds per game during the 2013-14 season.

Coach Steve Shepherd and his team are excited to welcome Javyn Johnston to College of the Ozarks!
