The College of the Ozarks Bobcats could not keep pace on Friday night, falling to Mount Mercy University by a score of 95-77 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Part of the story was the difference at the foul line, with the Bobcats missing 15 free throws to go 19-for-34 while the host Mustangs made the most of their opportunities going 32-for-34.
Freshman Ethan Davidson led the way for C of O with a team-high 15 points. Ethan Murray, Kiefer Starbird and Joe Young all scored 14 apiece, and Cameron Paschke added 11 points. Young added another double-double to his season stats by grabbing 10 rebounds Starbird blocked 6 Mustang shots to go along with his 7 rebounds. Mount Mercy, who led 41-38 at halftime, dominated the rebounding battle out-rebounding C of O by the count of 52-39.
The Bobcats, who are now 13-5, will look to move back into the win column as they play Lyon College at home this Tuesday, January 26th, at 7 PM.
