The #15 ranked College of the Ozarks Bobcats came up big at home in the second half to post a victory (96-80) over Central Baptist College on Tuesday evening.
The Bobcats trailed the Mustangs by as many as nine points in the first half on a meager 39.1 field goal percentage, but managed to pull within 4 at halftime. Upon returning to the court in the second half, the Bobcats improved their shooting. Hitting 6 of 11 from the 3 point line (55%), 17-29 (59%) from the field, they took the lead at 63-60 and never looked back.
Derek Daniels, who had only 9 pionts in the first half, led the team with 30 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. Not far behind was Alex Santiago with 26 pionts, followed by Ethan Murray with 10. The Mustang leaders featured Jayln McBride with 25 points and LaShawn Hamilton with 17 points and a game high 7 rebounds.
The win brings the Bobcats’ overall record to 13-4 (2-1 MCAC). They will take the court against #6 Bellevue University on Friday evening and Waldorf College on Saturday.
