C of O junior guard Ethan Murray hit 9 three-pointers en route to a career high 36 points, but it was not enough as the Bobcats fell on the road at Haskell Indian Nations University on Friday night, 94-87 in the MCAC conference opener for both teams.
The Bobcats, who led 47-44 at intermission, shot 36% in the 2nd half. The host Indians took full advantage, outscoring C of O 50-40 and dropping the 'Cats to 11-4 on the season and 0-1 in MCAC conference play.
Joining Murray in leading C of O's effort were seniors Derek Daniels and Alex Santiago who scored 16 and 12, respectively. Sophomore Joe Young posted another double-double, finishing with 11 points and a team high 10 rebounds and six assists.
Haskell was led by senior guard Randy July who finished with a team-high 33 points. The Indians also won the battle on the boards out-rebounding the Bobcats, 40-33.
The Bobcats will be back on the court Saturday to face Oklahoma Wesleyan with a focus on bringing home a victory.
