In the final matchup of the McDonald’s CAM JAM Classic, the NAIA DII #9 College of the Ozarks Bobcats faced their long-time foe #21 Bellevue University. The last time the two teams met was in late-November 2015, and C of O claimed a 76-65 road win. Tonight the Bobcats were unable to overtake the Bruins and fell 89-80, taking the Cats season record to 11-3.
Bobcats’ junior guard Cameron Paschke had a great first half, tallying 15 points, 4 assists and 2 steals. However, foul trouble placed him on the bench for a considerable period in the second half. Picking up in the second half where Paschke left off was Ethan Murray. Murray put up 7 points in the first half, but hit three 3-pointers in the second half to aide in his 24 point total for the game. The Cats captured 25 rebounds to the Bruins’ 31, and Skyler Frazier was the high rebounder for C of O with 7. The Cats shot 48.3% from the field, but Bellevue’s 53.6% gave them the edge in tonight’s competition.
The Bobcats will once again play on their home court this week as they face Mount Mercy University at 1 PM on January 9th.
