The College of the Ozarks Bobcats basketball team hosted an exhibition game on Saturday against the Link Year team from Kanakuk, with the Bobcats capturing the win 99-67.
The exhibition game does not count towards the team’s win-loss record, nor are the player’s stats included in their season or career records. The game does, however, provide a great opportunity for the Bobcats to gain some competitive court time prior to the opening of their regular season.
Leading the Cats was Ethan Murray with 26 points, going 10-19 from the field, 6 for 9 in three-pointers. Also scoring in double digits were Cameron Paschke and Joe Young with 12 pts apiece and Skyler Frazier with 10. Young gathered 7 rebounds, Young and Paschke each dished 5 assists, and freshman Ryan Burland posted three blocks.
Leaders for Link Year featured Jordan Grant (Harrison, AR) with 20 points (6-17 FG, 4-9 3-pt), followed by Logan Miller (Boise, ID) with 15 points and Calvin Goldsmith (Barrington, IL) with 13. Miller was the team leader with 7 rebounds, and Goldsmith provided 2 blocks.
The Bobcats will open their 2015-16 season on the road November 4th facing William Penn University (IA). The Cats home opener will take place Friday, November 6, 7 PM, when they take on Southwestern College (KS) during the College’s homecoming festivities.
