The College of the Ozarks men's basketball team picked up their first win of the season on Thursday night defeating the host Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene University in the opening round of the Pioneer Tip-Off Classic, 85-74 in Olathe, KS.
The Bobcats, who trailed 37-33 at the half, outrebounded the Pioneers (35-28) which included 15 offensive rebounds. C of O had 5 players in double-figures led by senior Derek Daniels who finished with a team-high 23 points. He was followed by Ethan Murray (13), Cameron Paschke (12), Alex Santiago (12) and Joe Young (10). Santiago and fellow senior Pete Leonard both had a team-high 6 rebounds. MidAmerica Nazarene was led by Nate Launius who finished with a game-high 24 points.
The Bobcats return to the court Friday night at 6 PM to face Central Methodist University.
