Saturday evening, the College of the Ozarks’ Bobcats posted another victory by defeating the Pioneers of Mid America Nazarene University, 101-91. Junior Pete Leonard led the Bobcats with 17 points, and four other Bobcats (Simniok, Daniels, Murray and Santiago) were also in double digits. Scoring leaders for MidAmerica were David Clark and Luke Thomas, each with 24 points. Nathane Simniok led the Bobcats with 9 rebounds, and MidAmerica’s Luke Thomas led all players with 16.
The first half saw a steady trading of possessions and scores, but at 2:30 remaining in the half, College of the Ozarks took a four-point lead, which they stretched to nine for a 46-37 halftime lead. While the Pioneers had a few surges to close the gap in the second half, they were unable to capture the lead, and the Bobcats closed out the game with a 10-point spread.
