Bobcats Drop Season Opener

College of the Ozarks men’s basketball team could not get enough breaks to pull off an opening night win, as they fell to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (TX), 77-71, in the opening round of the Oklahoma Wesleyan Classic in Bartlesville on Friday night.

Sophomore Ethan Davidson led the way for the Bobcats finishing with a team-high 20 points and adding 7 rebounds.  Sophomore Heath Carmichael and junior Canyon Smith finished with 11 and 10, respectively.  SAGU, who capitalized with 19 points off 16 C of O turnovers, won the battle on the boards out-rebounding the Bobcats, 33-26.  Sophomore Ryan Burland led C of O with 9 rebounds.

College of the Ozarks (0-1) will be back in action on Saturday facing off with the host Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 8:00 p.m.
