College of the Ozarks men’s basketball team could not get enough breaks to pull off an opening night win, as they fell to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (TX), 77-71, in the opening round of the Oklahoma Wesleyan Classic in Bartlesville on Friday night.
Sophomore Ethan Davidson led the way for the Bobcats finishing with a team-high 20 points and adding 7 rebounds. Sophomore Heath Carmichael and junior Canyon Smith finished with 11 and 10, respectively. SAGU, who capitalized with 19 points off 16 C of O turnovers, won the battle on the boards out-rebounding the Bobcats, 33-26. Sophomore Ryan Burland led C of O with 9 rebounds.
College of the Ozarks (0-1) will be back in action on Saturday facing off with the host Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 8:00 p.m.
