The NAIA DII #12 College of Ozarks men had a strong night on the court, where Alex Santiago and Derek Daniels put on a shooting exhibition Saturday evening, as the Bobcats defeated Central Christian College, 96-66, to capture the MCAC South Championship.
The Bobcats jumped out to an early 21-4 lead in the first five minutes of the matchup and never looked back, closing out the first half with a 52-31 lead. Two of the seniors scored a combined total of 48 points—Santiago was a perfect 5-of-5 from the three-point line, scoring 26 points, and Daniels hit 4-of-7 treys while posting 22 points. Pete Leonard and Skyler Frazier also contributed 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Bobcats will host the MCAC Championship game this coming Tuesday evening, March 3, as they face #9 Bellevue University, who defeated Waldorf College by a score of 82-74 earlier today in MCAC North play. The game will be held in the Keeter Gymnasium on the College of the Ozarks campus at 8:00 PM.
