Congratulations go out to the C of O Bobcats Men’s Basketball team on a fantastic 25-7 season! While they would have been ecstatic to prolong it, their season came to a close Wednesday evening in their national championship appearance against Cardinal Stritch University of Wisconsin, suffering a 69-78 loss.
The Cats started Wednesday’s game slowly, falling behind by as many as 14 points, but in typical fashion, they managed to work their way back into the game and pull within 3 points of CSU. However, the Bobcats just couldn't’t quite find a way to gain the lead.
Derek Daniels and Cameron Paschke led the Bobcats’ scoring with 13 points apiece, followed closely by Ethan Murray with 12 and Alex Santiago with 11. Murray gathered 8 rebounds and Paschke grabbed 4 steals and dished out 4 assists to lead the team.
While it was a tough way to end the season, the Bobcats should be proud of their year, as they provided C of O fans with many exciting games and memorable highlights over the past 5 ½ months! Best wishes go out to our seniors—Derek Daniels, Pete Leonard, and Alex Santiago—as they close out their basketball careers!
