On Saturday, January 16, the College of the Ozarks Bobcats’ basketball and cheer teams hosted a clinic for the Champion Athletes of the Ozarks. The annual clinic, which provides an opportunity for the Bobcats and Champion Athletes to connect with one another, is eagerly anticipated by all involved.
The Champion Athletes of the Ozarks’ mission is to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and everyday life skills, which enhances the lives of children and adults with disabilities through education, sports, and new opportunities.
Throughout the morning clinic, Champion Athletes were able to shoot around with the Bobcats, be entertained by the cheer team, and play games together. They closed out the morning by swapping signatures with their favorite Bobcats on the backs of their new t-shirts. Champion Athletes spent their afternoon cheering the Lady Cats and Bobcats to victories over Haskell University, and several had a great time participating in a scrimmage during halftime of the ladies’ game.
Prior to the men's game, athletic director and head men's basketball coach Steve Shepherd presented Susan Miles, Director of Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, with a commemorative clinic t-shirt and Bobcat apparel to thank her for her effective and excellent leadership.
