The College of the Ozarks Bobcats were defeated Saturday evening by #10 Bellevue University, 86-80. It was a tough loss for the Bobcats, who came back from a 15-point deficit early in the game to lead by one headed into halftime. Bellevue posted seven unanswered points to open the second half. The Bobcats worked their way back into the lead for a short time, but could not manage to pull out a victory. While both teams were fairly equal in shooting percentage and rebounds, Bellevue drained 7 three-pointers compared to Ozarks’ three. Senior Nathane Simniok and Freshman Nathan Reid led the Bobcats with 17 points each and a total of 5 steals. Bellevue had 4 players in double figures, with Lee Ames leading the scoring at 23 and Alex Worthen-Harris posting a double-double (13 pts., 10 rebounds). The Bobcats’ record now stands at 19-8 overall and 7-5 in conference, with only two games remaining in conference play.
