The Lady Bobcats’ Coca-Cola/Subway and the Bobcats’ McDonald’s CAM JAM Classics held at College of the Ozarks provided the community with some great basketball—eight games in two days--and Christian Action Ministries (CAM) with hundreds of canned goods to restock their shelves. Both the Bobcats and Lady Bobcats picked up two victories apiece for the weekend.
Just prior to the start of the Bobcats’ ballgame on Friday evening, Andy Ruprecht, owner of the Hollister/Branson McDonalds, and Administrative Assistant of McDonald’s Rhonda Hall, presented a $1,000 check to Pat Davis, Executive Director of CAM. Immediately following, Athletic Director Al Waller and Bobcats’ Head Coach Steve Shepherd expressed their appreciation to McDonald’s for their ongoing support. This is the 33rd year that McDonald’s has sponsored the men’s CAM JAM Classic.
On Saturday afternoon, Lady Bobcats’ Head Coach Becky Vest and Al Waller formally recognized and thanked local Subway manager, Jeremy Brewer, for Subway’s continuing support of the Lady Bobcats’ Classic.
Adding an unexpected highlight to the weekend, an anonymous individual from the crowd donated $500 to CAM in memory of Corporal Kenneth Allan “Skeeter” McClain, who died in Vietnam on April 17, 1968.
College of the Ozarks’ Athletic Department thanks the community for their fantastic support of the Bobcat and Lady Bobcat teams, as well as the significant contributions they provided for Christian Action Ministries.
