The Lady Cats opened up against Hannibal-LaGrange University (HLGU) and made quick work of sweeping the match 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-16).  College of the Ozarks posted a .431 attacking percentage compared to .013 by HLGU.  Lady Cat Kaylan Smith led the Bobcats with 9 kills and no errors, while also providing a solo block and a block assist.  Rielly Dobbs added to her impressive season numbers with 24 assists, and freshman Ryley Thixton led the team with 10 digs.  Danielle Curnes and Kayli Grant each aced 5 serves, and senior Hannah Bracker tallied 4 of the team's 12 blocks to help shut down the Trojans, whose record now stands at 4-16.

College of the Ozarks entered their second match of the day without as much force, falling 22-25 to host Lyon College.  The Scots posed a challenge in the second set as well, but the Lady Cats pulled out a 25-23 victory to tie the match at 1-1.  The following two sets found College of the Ozarks a bit more settled, and they proceeded to capture the victory with set wins of 25-20 and 25-15.  Stat leaders for the Lady Bobcats featured:  Curnes, Grant, and Alex Spears with 13 kills apiece, Rielly Dobbs provided 41 assists, Curnes collected 18 digs, and Smith posted 6 blocks.  Curnes and Spears both picked up double doubles on the night.

The Lady Bobcats have been receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll the last few weeks, and earlier this week moved into the No. 1 spot in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) rankings.  Friday's two wins improve the Lady Bobcats' record to 20-3.

College of the Ozarks' next challenge will come on October 4th, as they face Central Methodist University (7-7) in Fayette, Mo.  The Bobcats are 2-0 against CMU this season, winning 3-0 in the Cats' home opener and battling for a 3-2 win on September 2nd in neutral territory at the Bellevue Labor Day Classic.
