The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcat volleyball team hit the road again this weekend and improved their season record to 15-13.
On Friday evening the Lady Cats defeated Bacone College (OK) in three straight sets, 25-23, 25-12, and 25-10, while the Bacone Lady Warriors remain winless at 0-21. Leading the Lady Bobcats were: Danielle Curnes driving 10 kills, Lindsay Boone dishing 12 assists, Sarah Kreul and Ashlynn Rogers acing three serves apiece, Brandi Stahl capturing 14 digs, and Jamie Reaves posting 7 blocks.
The Lady Bobcats split their matches in Saturday’s John Brown University Tri-Match held in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
The Lady Bobcats fell 3-1 to Wayland Baptist in game one (12-25, 25-23, 20-25, 19-25). Wayland Baptist is 21-5 overall with a 10-1 record in the Sooner Athletic Conference. Leading the Bobcats were: Jamie Reaves (10 kills and 5 blocks), Lindsay Boone (20 assists), and Ashlynn Rogers (22 digs).
The Lady Cats rebounded in their second match of the day as they defeated John Brown University 3-2 (27-25, 17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-10). Lady Cats key to the victory included: Chloe’ Shepherd (13 kills), Sarah Kreul (24 assists), Brandi Stahl (4 aces and 36 digs), and Jamie Reaves (6 blocks). John Brown is currently 16-10 overall. JBU will have an opportunity to even the score with C of O in the end-of-season Tri-Match to be held at College of the Ozarks on October 31.
Their 2-1 weekend brings the Lady Bobcats’ overall record to 15-13, 4-0 in the A.I.I. Conference. The Lady Cats will return to their home court on Tuesday evening at 6 PM to face a tough Missouri Baptist squad that is currently ranked No. 3 in the NAIA. Come on out and cheer the Bobcats on to a big victory!
