Lady Cats Fall Short Against Evangel

VolleyballThe College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats were unable to overcome the #13 ranked Evangel University Lady Crusaders on Tuesday evening, 3-1 (16-25, 25-20, 21-25, 19-25), in front of a spirited crowd at the Keeter Athletic Complex. 

While the Lady Bobcats provided the Crusaders with some tough competition, particularly on defense, they were able to take only one set from Evangel. 

Leading the Lady Bobcats were Jamie Reaves with 11 kills and 6 blocks, Sarah Kreul providing 22 assists, and 22 digs each by Brandi Stahl and Danielle Curnes. 

Lady Crusaders who featured in the Evangel victory included:  Micah Guiot and Jackie Fugate (15 kills each), Fugate (5 blocks), Maddie Baumann (25 assists), and Morgan Smith (38 digs).

The Lady Bobcats will return to their home court on Friday evening to face another top-ranked team, #24 Grand View University (IA).  The Lady Cats will honor their seniors, setter Lindsay Boone and middle hitter Jamie Reaves, on Friday evening.  Reaves and Boone have been four-year members of the Lady Bobcats, each playing more than 400 sets.  Both have been integral to the team’s success.  Friday’s game will begin at 7 PM.
