The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats’ volleyball team celebrated senior night by defeating Central Baptist College, 3-0, on Tuesday evening to pick up their 13th consecutive victory.
Prior to the opening serve, the Lady Bobcats recognized senior leaders Chloe’ Shepherd (Carthage, Mo.), Brandy Glessner (Republic, Mo. via Evangel University), Logan Allen (Belton, Mo.), and Sarah Kreul (Republic, Mo.), all of whom have made significant contributions to the team during their tenure.
Tuesday evening’s match was a walk in the park for the Lady Bobcats, as they tallied wins of 25-12, 25-7, and 25-9 against the now 3-14 Lady Mustangs from Conway, Arkansas.
Featured in the stats column were senior Chloe’ Shepherd driving 10 kills, senior Logan Allen blocking 3, freshman Haley Stallings collecting 24 digs, and freshman Rielly Dobbs dishing 21 assists. In addition, Dobbs and Stallings served up three aces apiece.
For the seventh straight week, Stallings is ranked as the NAIA's number 1 in Digs Per Game (7.250), and she is also currently ranked #2 in Total Digs (785). As a team, the Lady Bobcats currently hold several Top 20 spots in the NAIA stats: #1 - Total Digs (2,599); #2 - Digs Per Game (23.84) & Kills per Game (14.04); #3 - Total Kills (1,530) & Total Assists (1,337); and #19 in Assists per Game (12.27).
Tonight’s win takes the Lady Bobcats’ record to 22-10 on the season. They will head to Nebraska later this week for two matches, one against Mayville State University (N.D.) and the other against #20 ranked Bellevue University (Neb.)
