The Lady Bobcats were back on the road this past weekend and brought home two wins to bring their overall season record to 13-12.
WIN vs. Haskell University (3-2) – Playing on Haskell’s home court, the Lady Bobcats were put to the test but prevailed with a 3-2 win over the Indians. Danielle Curnes posted 18 kills, Lindsay Boone dished 25 assists, Ashlynn Rogers served up 5 aces, Jamie Reaves provided 7 blocks, and Brandi Stahl (25 digs) led five Lady Cats who posted double-digit digs for the match.
LOSS vs. McPherson College (1-3) – The Lady Bobcats could not pull off a victory in Saturday’s first match. Although they exceeded McPherson in every stat category, they could not score as needed to close out the sets (21-25, 25-17, 23-25, 21-25). Leaders for the Lady Cats were: Danielle Curnes (12 kills), Lindsay Boone (30 assists), Ashlynn Rogers (3 aces), Brandi Stahl (26 digs), and Jamie Reaves (6 blocks).
WIN vs. Central Christian (3-0) – With a 12-8 record heading into the match, the CCU Lady Tigers looked to be the tougher match of the day, but the Bobcats topped them in 3 straight sets, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21. The Lady Bobcats were led by Hannah Bracker (14 kills), Lindsay Boone (20 assists), Brandi Stahl (17 digs), and Logan Allen (3 blocks).
The Lady Cats are currently ranked #2 in NAIA Division I in Total Digs with 1,917, #5 in Digs per Game with 19.56, #8 in Total Kills (1,113) and #10 in Total Blocks (189.5) and Assists (992). Junior libero Brandi Stahl ranks #2 in digs (487) for the NAIA, and Jamie Reaves is #3 in Total Blocks (109).
The next game for the Lady Cats will be at Bacone College (OK) on October 16, followed by a Tri-Match at John Brown University on the 17th. The ladies will return home for a match against Missouri Baptist on October 20th at 6:00 PM.
