Closing out their regular season, the College of the Ozarks hosted a tri-match with John Brown University and the University of St. Thomas (TX) on Saturday afternoon, October 31. College of the Ozarks (CofO) won both of their matches by a 3-1 margin, while John Brown took the win over University of St. Thomas (3-1) in the non-CofO competition.
In their match against the UST Celts, the Lady Bobcats posted 54 kills, with more than half coming from Jamie Reaves (18) and Logan Allen (10). Sophomore Ashlynn Rogers aced two serves, Boone dished 27 assists, and Reaves contributed 4 blocks. Junior libero Brandi Stahl led four Lady Cats with double-digit digs, as she gathered 24, while Rogers, Danielle Curnes and Hannah Bracker contributed 17, 15 and 14 respectively.
College of the Ozarks utilized 14 kills from Chloe’ Shepherd, 2 more aces from Rogers, 3 blocks from Reaves, 29 assists from Boone, and 33 digs from Stahl to capture a 3-1 win over John Brown and bring the Lady Cats’ record back to the .500 mark.
Over the course of the afternoon, the tri-match stat leaders featured: College of the Ozarks’ Jamie Reaves who posted 29 kills and 7 blocks, alongside Ashlynn Rogers with 4 aces; JBU’s Alyssa Arnold provided 78 assists; and UST’s Candace Grosjean garnered 60 digs.
The Lady Bobcats will head to Ashford University in Iowa the weekend of November 13-14 for the A.I.I. Conference Volleyball Tournament, where six teams will compete for two berths to national competition.
