College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats’ volleyball team defeated the Central Christian College Tigers in three straight sets on Thursday evening, 25-11, 25-22, and 26-24. The win takes College of the Ozarks’ record to 10-10, while Central Christian dips to 3-8.
The Lady Bobcats saw seniors Chloe’ Shepherd and Sarah Kreul make an impact on the evening, as Shepherd led the team in kills with 9 and Kreul partnered with freshman Rielly Dobbs to lead the team with 19 assists apiece. Haley Stallings kept up her steady pace at libero picking up 34 digs. Heading into Thursday evening’s match, Stallings, a freshman from Fair Grove, was ranked #1 in the NAIA in total digs (510) and digs per game (7.29).
Both teams will take the court in Point Lookout again Friday and Saturday, as the Lady Bobcats host seven teams in the Chick-fil-A Classic. The classic will open up at 1:00 on Friday with College of the Ozarks facing A.I.I. conference foe Haskell Indian Nations University, while Central Christian will face Kentucky Christian University in another A.I.I. matchup. Games will follow at 3, 5, and 7 PM, with the Lady Bobcats closing out the day against Johnson & Wales University-Denver and Evangel facing Fisk University.
