Lady Bobcats Surprise MO Southern in Home Opener

VolleyballIn their first home match of the season on Thursday evening, the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats took three straight sets from Missouri Southern University (25-23, 25-15, 27-17) in front of a boisterous home crowd.   Following 14 games on the road, the Lady Cats were focused on securing a win.

Leading the attack for College of the Ozarks was 5’11 junior Logan Allen with 11 kills, and junior Sarah Kreul, who dished out 17 assists.  On the defensive side, newcomer Danielle Curnes,  junior Brandi Stahl and sophomore Ashlynn Rogers all posted double digits in digs, with 15, 14, and 11 respectively.

The Missouri Southern Lions were led by Bridget Jaeger with 6 kills, Abby Finder with 18 assists, and Katie Wiele with 22 digs.

The Lady Bobcats, with a record of 5-10, will continue their homestand Friday evening as they face Williams Baptist College at 6 PM in the College of the Ozarks Keeter Gymnasium.
