The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats volleyball team moved to 4-4 on the season, as they split Tuesday’s games in the College of the Ozarks Tri-Match.
The Lady Cats toppled Williams Baptist College in three straight sets to open the Tri-Match, winning 25-20, 25-12, and 25-18. Seniors Brandy Glessner and Logan Allen were instrumental in the win, as Glessner tallied 10 kills while she and Allen each posted 3 blocks. Freshmen Rielly Dobbs (Nixa, Mo.) and Haley Stallings (Fair Grove, Mo.) provided 21 assists and 23 digs respectively.
The second match of the day featured Williams Baptist and Central Methodist University, with Central Methodist coming out on top, 3-1 (25-15, 29-31, 25-14 and 25-17).
After sitting out a game, the Lady Bobcats took on the Lady Eagles of Central Methodist. While the Eagles were on a roll from winning their last match, the Lady Cats struggled to get back in the groove of their play earlier in the day. Central Methodist captured the victory in three straight sets, 17-25, 13-25, and 20-25. Lady Bobcat stat leaders included three players with 6 kills--Glessner, Allen, and freshman Alex Spears; senior Sarah Kreul dished 14 assists, and Stallings garnered 13 digs.
The Lady Bobcats will head back on the road Thursday, playing Avila University in Kansas City on Thursday evening followed by four matches at the Bellevue University Labor Day Tournament in Nebraska.
