The College of the Ozarks volleyball team picked up four wins this weekend in the Central Methodist University Tournament held in Fayette, Missouri.
The Lady Bobcats were slated against St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, Friends University, Crowley’s Ridge College and Hannibal-LaGrange University. Friends managed to sneak a win in the second set of their game (28-26) for a 3-1 CofO victory, but the Lady Cats defeated all others by a 3-0 margin.
Leading the way for the weekend in the stat columns were: Logan Allen with 31 kills, Rielly Dobbs dishing 76 assists, Sarah Kreul serving up 9 aces, Haley Stallings capturing 76 digs, and Makensi Taylor tallying 12 blocks. Of note were two double-doubles attained by freshman setter Rielly Dobbs. In the Friends’ matchup, Dobbs posted 11 kills and 23 assists; she also provided 21 assists and 12 digs against Crowley’s Ridge. Also getting into the action this weekend were freshmen Morgan Copeland, Shay Helsel, Kaylee Larimer, Maggie Plake, and sophomore Halle Huffman.
The four victories push the Lady Bobcats’ season record to 21-10, while extending their streak of wins to 12.
The Lady Bobcats return to their home court to take on the Central Baptist College Mustangs of Conway, Arkansas, on Tuesday evening, October 18th, at 6 PM. The Mustangs play in the American Midwest Conference and currently hold a 3-13 record.
Prior to the start of Tuesday’s match, the College will recognize senior Lady Cats’ Brandy Glessner (Republic, Mo.), Chloe’ Shepherd (Carthage, Mo.), Sarah Kreul (Republic, Mo.) and Logan Allen (Belton, Mo.).
