Before a great home crowd, the Lady Bobcats posted a 3-1 victory over Lyon College Tuesday evening to bring their winning streak to three and their overall record to 7-10.
After a slow start, where they dropped the first set 22-25 to Lyon College, the Lady Bobcats came back strong, winning three straight sets, 25-14, 25-16, 25-11.
Logan Allen posted 11 kills, tying her season high, while Ashlynn Rogers drove three service aces, Jamie Reaves & Lindsay Boone provided 5 blocks apiece, Boone dished up 19 assists, and Brandi Stahl tallied 19 digs.
Leading the Scots of Lyon College (Batesville, AR) were: Katarina Frickleton (11 kills), Kaitlyn Craine (2 aces), Camille Clem (20 assists), and Amy Everett (16 digs). The Scots record drops to 5-6.
Most notable for the Lady Bobcats has been the improvement of their attack percentage in recent matches. Their season average was .157 heading into Tuesday's game, but they posted a .247 average for their last two matches. In NAIA Division I rankings, the Lady Bobcats are currently ranked #5 in total digs with 1,167, and libero Brandi Stahl is ranked #19 in total digs with 306.
The Lady Bobcats, following a 3-0 home stand, find themselves back on the road again this coming weekend, as they head to Clinton, IA to play in the Ashford University Tournament. The ladies will face Cardinal Stritch (Wisc.) and Ashford universities on Friday, followed by University of St. Francis (IL) and Fisk College (TN) on Saturday.
