The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcat volleyball team closed out their regular season at home facing a tough Bellevue University team that is currently ranked #17 in the NAIA polls.
The Lady Bobcats struggled in the first set, falling 14-25 to the Bruins. In the second and third sets, the Lady Cats put more pressure on Bellevue, but they were unable to pull out a victory in either set, dropping set two, 19-25, and the final set, 22-25. The Bruins were strong in offense, tallying 49 kills to the Lady Cats’ 35, and posting a .293 attacking percentage against .144 for the Bobcats.
The Lady Bobcats’ stat chart featured: junior Danielle Curnes with 10 kills (and 10 digs for a double-double); and freshmen Makensi Taylor providing 3 blocks, Rielly Dobbs dishing 15 assists, and Haley Stallings capturing 15 digs.
The loss takes the Lady Bobcats 'record to 23-13 on the season, while Bellevue University moves to 29-9. The Lady Bobcats will play next in the A.I.I. Conference Tournament being held in Point Lookout the weekend of November 11-12.
