Congrats to the A.I.I. Conference Champion Lady Bobcats

volleyball teamThe Lady Bobcat volleyball team picked up two big wins on Saturday to claim the A.I.I. Conference Volleyball Championship!

In the semi-finals, the Lady Bobcats took three straight sets from Lincoln Christian University, 25-18, 25-20, 25-16, to advance to the championship game. C of O was led by Hannah Bracker on the attack with a team-leading 12 kills, Makensi Taylor with 6 blocks, Haley Stallings with 24 digs, and Sarah Kreul with 19 assists.

The title match saw the Lady Bobcats back on the court against Haskell Indian Nations University, who had defeated Johnson & Wales of Denver earlier in the day.  Each set saw the two teams battling back and forth to gain the edge, but it was the Lady Bobcats who garnered a win in three straight sets (25-23, 25-18, 25-22), to take the championship for 2016.

Congratulations not only go out to the entire team, but also to Hannah Bracker, Logan Allen, Danielle Curnes and Haley Stallings, each of whom made the All-Tournament Team.  And, one more shout out goes to Logan Allen who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

The Lady Bobcats' season record now stands at 28-13, and they are awaiting a call to find out where they will head for their opening round of play next weekend!
