The College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats extended their winning streak to four games on Tuesday evening as they picked up a home victory in five sets (25-27, 28-26, 22-25, 25-14, 15-12) over William Woods University.
In a back-and-forth battle, the Lady Bobcats were led by their 5’10 sophomore outside hitter Danielle Curnes (19 kills and 2 service aces) alongside junior libero Brandi Stahl (30 digs) and seniors Jamie Reaves (8 blocks) and Lindsay Boone (29 assists). This was a big win for the Lady Cats, as they had lost their last two contests against William Woods this season.
Leading the Lady Owls of William Woods were: Emily Becker (20 kills, 3 blocks), Brittney Englebrecht (48 assists), and Melanie Kala (45 digs).
The Lady Cats are currently ranked #2 in NAIA Division I in Total Digs with 1,529 and #7 in Digs Per Game with 18.9. Junior libero Brandi Stahl ranks #7 in digs (389) for the NAIA, and Jamie Reaves ranks #2 in the AII Conference with 87 blocks.
College of the Ozarks will head back on the road this weekend as they face Haskell University on Friday, followed by matches against McPherson College and Central Christian College on Saturday. The Lady Bobcats are now 11-11 overall on the season and 2-0 in conference play, having won 7 of their last 8 matches.
