This week, Hayley Blair, senior libero, was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Volleyball College Division Second Team. Each year, the Capital One Academic All-America® program selects 816 distinguished student-athletes from across the country to become part of an honorary team in their respective sports. To be eligible for this award, athletes must be starters or significant role players in their sport and carry a 3.3 or greater GPA.
Hayley is a four-year starter who has been named Libero of the Week in the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference (MCAC) numerous times during the past three seasons. Blair received the MCAC First Team All-Conference Award in 2011 and 2012, and she was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2011. During her Freshman season, Hayley was MCAC Freshman of the Year and 2nd Team All-Conference. Blair currently leads the MCAC conference and ranks #4 in the NAIA in total digs.
Head Coach Nick Sharp states, “Hayley Blair has been a vital defensive contributor to the Bobcat volleyball program. Her decisive court instincts have placed her in the NAIA top 5 for digs per set. Hayley is a fierce competitor who leads by example both on the court and in the classroom.”
Blair is a double major in Physical Education K-12/Secondary Education and has a very strong GPA. She is a 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete, a Fall 2012 College of the Ozarks’ Scholar Athlete, and a 3-semester Dean’s List recipient. The time dedicated to volleyball matches and practice, along with her on-campus work requirements, class attendance, and study time, demonstrates Hayley’s commitment to hard work and great character both on and off the court.
