Tough Day on the Diamond

It was a rough Friday on the diamond as the College of the Ozarks Bobcats dropped two games on their home field to Central Bible College, 15-0 and 8-1. 

In Game 1, Central Baptist came out swinging and posted 7 runs to open the first inning.  They proceeded to produce as the game progressed, scoring a total of 15 runs on 17 hits.   The Bobcats, on the other hand, managed six hits, but left 8 runners on base, leaving them scoreless for the game.  CBC’s Ross Westbrook got the win, while Alex Stephens took the loss for C of O.   Timmy Townsend led the Bobcats at the plate, going 2-3.

Game 2 found the Bobcats producing only one run on seven hits and leaving 9 men stranded.  Cody Pentecost and Eddie Devora each went 2-3 to lead the 'Cats.  Central Baptist, however, posted 8 runs on 11 hits, to take their second win of the day.  College of the Ozarks threw five pitchers, but starter Josh Neufeld suffered the loss. Zach Sparks acquired the win for Central Baptist.

The two teams will face off again tomorrow for another double header as they continue conference play at Bob Smith Field in Pt. Lookout, Missouri, at Noon.
