Pitchers Neufeld & Stephens Pitch Complete Games

BaseballThe College of the Ozarks  Bobcats improved their record to 12-14 on Thursday, as they defeated host Southwestern Christian University of Bethany, Oklahoma in both games of an afternoon doubleheader.

The Bobcats' first victory of the day, 3-0, featured a 3-hitter pitched by left hander Josh Neufeld.  Neufeld pitched 7 complete innings, striking out 6 and walking only two, bringing his season record to 4-1.  Contributing at the plate were Jesse Fisher (3-for-4 with a double) and Scott Stephens (1-for-2).

Game two included another complete game for the Bobcats' pitching staff, with Alex Stephens giving up 5 hits and only one earned run in 7 innings pitched, while striking out two.  Senior centerfielder Cody Pentecost went 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and Jesse Fisher and Cody Hull batted .500 to give the Bobcats their second win of the day.

The Bobcats are off for the weekend and will head to Missouri Valley College for a doubleheader on April 7th.
