Karlson Named to A.I.I. All-Tournament Team

Jacob Karlson On Tuesday evening, at the A.I.I. Tournament Banquet, Bobcat sophomore shortstop Jacob Karlson was named to the 2016 A.I.I. All-Tournament Team.

Head coach Neale Richardson commented, "I was pleased that Karlson was selected for this award.  He played exceptional defense for the Bobcats, while also hitting the ball hard throughout the tournament."

At the plate, Karlson went 4-for-13 for a .310 average and a slugging percentage of .462.  Facing Mount Mercy in game one, Karlson ignited the Cats' offense in the 4th inning by doubling to deep right center, advancing on a wild pitch, and scoring on a ground ball by J. D. Chadwell. During the win over Fisher College, Karlson kept the 5th inning alive with a single, and in the Cats' final game, he contributed two of the team's five hits.  Karlson drove a single up the middle in the 6th and doubled with two outs in the top of the 8th.  He also collected a walk and a stolen base.  In the field, Karlson was error-free, putting out two and providing 9 assists in his 11 chances.

Congratulations go out to Jacob Karlson for being named to the 2016 A.I.I. All-Tournament Team.
