Head baseball coach Neale Richardson is pleased to report that Jordan Gentry recently signed a letter of intent to play baseball at College of the Ozarks beginning with the 2016-17 season.
Gentry is a multi-sport athlete from Bryant High School in Bryant, Arkansas, who played both football and baseball for the Hornets during his high school career. As a baseball player, Gentry was the DH for the varsity squad and also spent time at catcher. Gentry was an All-Conference Player his senior year and helped the Hornets to a 31-2 season record, as well as a first place finish in the 7A State Championship. He closed out the season with a batting average of .370, including 27 hits and 16 RBIs.
Gentry also played American Legion ball with the Bryant Blacksox and helped lead them to back-to-back Junior American Legion State Championship wins in 2013 & 2014, and an AA American Legion State Championship in 2015 with a batting average of .474.
