Galena's Jake Baker to Join Bobcat Baseball

TJake Baker his past week, head coach Neale Richardson was pleased to add another recruit, Jake Baker, to the 2016-17 class.

 

Baker is a left-handed pitcher and outfielder from Galena High School in Galena, Missour.  He has been a starter for the Galena Bears each of the last three seasons and is scheduled to continue in that role during his senior season. Last fall Baker finished with a .712 ERA, a .915 WHIP, and 86 strikeouts in 56 innings. He also hit .384 in 89 plate appearances.

 

In 2015, Baker received 2nd Team All-District (Class 2, District 11) Outfield and Pitcher as well as 2nd Team All-Conference (Southwest Central League) Outfield. He has received All-District and All-Conference Honors the previous 3 years of his career.

 

Baker helped lead the team to a 20-4 record and a 5-2 conference record this past fall and plans to help continue Galena’s success from the fall into the spring.  

 

The Bobcats are excited to add another strong arm and hot bat to their lineup for 2016-17.
